INSTALLATION

We recommend that you use a professional plumber to install the Hardless NG4.

The installation should be done on the main water entrance to the house or on a cold water line. The thread on the filter is 3/4”.

The thread needs to be wrapped with a thread sealant for use with drinking water before making the connection. We have found it best to use both Teflon tape and pipe thread sealant. We recommend using the provided plastic adapters between the pipe and filter connection.

It can be helpful to install a bypass so that you will still have water to wash the mesh filter when doing maintenance.

The filter should be installed with the filter body facing down.

If your water pressure is higher than 75 psi. We strongly recommend a pressure regulator be installed.

The direction of the flow of water should be from the city line to the building. Improper flow direction installation or reverse flushing may damage the filter. Please pay attention to the in/out stickers on the top of the filter.

TO INSTALL

Turn off the main water.

Connect the pipe of the entry and exit.

Be sure to leave enough room to make it easy to maintain and flush the unit (at least 3 1⁄4” in from the wall).

Flush the product by opening the valve on the bottom for 30 seconds.

Please be sure to put a bucket underneath to catch the water. A hose can also be attached so that you can direct the water where you would like it to go.

CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT

For best results we recommend that the cartridge be replaced every 6 months.

Turn off the main water valve.

Open the valve on the bottom of the filter and let the water come out to release pressure.

Open the filter by twisting the bottom part clockwise using your hands or the provided auxiliary key.

Remove the old cartridge and mesh filter.
DO NOT THROW OUT THE MESH FILTER

Now is a good time to wash the mesh filter. The mesh filter should be cleaned with a fine brush and spraying water on the filter from the outside in. (You can do this by turning on the water where you just removed the bottom part of the filter and use that running water to clean the mesh filter).

After cleaning the mesh filter, attach it to the bottom of the new cartridge.

Place new cartridge with mesh filter inside the filter body making sure the
fit is secure. Be careful not to lose the O-ring that is inside the filter bottom.

Tighten the unit with your auxiliary key.

Slowly turn on the water making sure there is no leakage.

Place a bucket underneath the unit and open the valve on the bottom to flush the unit for 30 seconds.

If you have any questions, please call 1-888-855-1802.
