Introducing the Hardless NG4 Whole House Water Filter, a revolutionary salt free softener alternative that delivers water filtration for your entire home. The NG4 is both a water conditioner and water filter in one small compact unit.

Unlike salt-based water softeners (which remove minerals, replacing them with salt ions) the filter is designed to reduce limescale buildup, sediment, and impurities while retaining beneficial minerals, including calcium and magnesium. The Hardless NG4 protects your water appliances and improves water quality from every tap in the house.

The filter can be easily installed by any plumber and is available in both ¾” and 1” inlet/outlet. For best results we recommend replacing the cartridge every 6 months, which you can easily do yourself.

In areas with harder water or with more debris in the water, we recommend our larger unit, the NG4L.

How Does It Work?

The filter has both a water conditioning cartridge and a stainless-steel mesh filter.

The stainless-steel mesh filter removes sediment and debris.

The water conditioning cartridge contains specially formulated crystals that modify the structure of the minerals in order to reduce limescale buildup. This is different from water softeners, which remove the minerals and replace them with salt ions.

The KDF media inside the cartridge uses a redox reaction to reduce/remove impurities (chlorine, lead, mercury, iron) from the water and help with any unpleasant odors.

*Please note that since the minerals are still in the water, no change will be seen if using a hardness test such as GPG or PPM as those tests check for minerals and the minerals are still present.

*The Hardless NG is meant for use with municipal water only. It is not meant for water that is microbiologically unsafe to drink.

Clean water for the whole house and garden

Finally, a water system that softens and filters at the same time, and for the whole house, no salts needed. We installed our Hardless Water System two months ago and immediately tasted the disappearance of that chlorine taste so common in California water. We also noted a decrease in water spots on dishes, flatware and the shower doors. The white laundry looked whiter and colors brighter. Although our new refrigerator came with a water filter, we were still getting mineral clumps with our ice cubes. Once we installed the Hardless Water System the ice cubes dispensed clean.

All this clean water for the whole house and garden from a water system that’s a little bigger than an ostrich egg. We paid for reverse-osmosis systems (in one sink) and water softening systems for 40 years. I had to turn off the soft-water system every night so the salts would not accumulate in the garden when the sprinklers went on, and then push it back on in the morning when we wanted the softened water in the house. Now both the house and garden are benefiting from the Hardless Water System, with no extra tasks on our part. We are extremely satisfied with this system.
